Participated in the iF Design Award – Concept Stage

“Reunion” is a conceptual tea set design inspired by the symbolic meaning of the circle (圓, yuan) in Chinese culture—representing reunion, predestined relationships, and completeness. The project explores how traditional values can be expressed through contemporary form and daily rituals like tea drinking.

The set includes a teapot, four tea cups, and a tray. When arranged together, the components form a full circle, echoing the theme of unity. Each piece was carefully shaped to suggest interaction and meaning—for example, two cups facing each other resemble two people bowing in greeting. The magnetic base adds a playful and modern twist, while maintaining coherence in presentation.

Made with EM ceramics, the pieces are infused with effective microorganisms (EM) that purify water, merging aesthetic form with functional sustainability.

Though the project did not enter the final round of the iF Design Award, it reflects our commitment to storytelling through design—bringing cultural symbolism, emotional resonance, and modern functionality into a single, meaningful object.
